JULY 2008 - AN INNOVATIVE, OPTIMISTIC LOGO LAUNCHED FOR THE NEW SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT BRAND
Suez Environnement has adopted an new corporate identity which has resulted in a new logo for Degrémont. The aniseed green disc within the new logo range, represents Suez Environnement, while the second smaller disk is coloured according to the branch of industry involved. Orange for waste business lines, blue for water business lines (Degrémont) and magenta for combines activities. The yellow disk remains the same across all industries. JUNE 2008 - CERTIFICATE OF CONSTRUCTION COMPLETION AWARDED FOR THE PIMPAMA - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
The contract was awarded to Degrémont by Gold Coast Water in late 2006 to design and construct a 17,000 m3/d wastewater treatment and recycling plant in Pimpama. The plant was required to have the capacity to treat wastewater from 40,000 households and commercial premises. On the 17th June 2008 the construction of wastewater treatment facility was officially confirmed complete. Click Link for further information on the Pimpama project.
MAY 2008 - PERTH SEAWATER DESALINATION PROJECT - AUSTRALIAN CONSTRUCTION ACHIEVEMENT AWARD - 2008 WINNER
The construction of the Perth Water Desalination Project, which was delivered by Degremont and Multiplex under an alliance arrangement, was declared Australia's most outstanding example of construction excellence at the 2008 Australian Construction Achievement Award dinner in Melbourne.
The chair of the 2008 ACAA Judging Panel commented "The project achieved full environmental compliance while incorporating sustainability through design and equipment and is now exceeding the client's performance requirements. It also demonstrates the viability both economically and environmentally of desalination. (Extract from Article: The Australian Concrete Construction, July 2008)
The $300 million desalination plant financed by the Water Corporation of Western Australia is a key initiative of the Western Australian Government to provide Perth with a drought proof water supply. (.... click link for further information)
